Former Chelsea and Newcastle United striker Demba Ba says top European clubs undervalue their African players.
Ba was excellent for Besiktas this week in their Europa League draw with Tottenham.
"Unfortunately, African players are not worth the same as English players or European players," Ba said. "It's just the way it is. Is that why Yaya Toure never wins the FIFA World Player of the Year award? Probably. I don't blame anyone. But that's it.
"I miss London but I chose the option that suited me the best and I'm really happy. Why didn't I move to an English club? Every transfer window is the same.
"People talk but they don't go to the end of what they are saying. I'm playing to help my team qualify for the Champions League."
