Former Chelsea assistant manager Angelo Alessio is backing Olivier Giroud for success with AC Milan.

Giroud's move to the Rossonero was confirmed on Saturday.

Alessio told TMW: "Olivier is a highly experienced forward, gifted with good technique and very strong.

"Milan have secured an excellent player, they've made a great signing. For me he can continue to score in Serie A.

"Giroud has all the credentials to do well also in the Rossoneri. Of course, it will be difficult to see him from the beginning of the game teaming up with (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic in the advanced department of (coach Stefano) Pioli."
