Ex-Chelsea keeper Grodas admits Niedzwiecki a big influence

Former Chelsea goalkeeper Frode Grodas admits Eddie Niedzwiecki had a big influence on his career.

Niedzwiecki was Grodas' keeper coach at Chelsea, with the Norwegian going onto to coach at the top level himself.

He told chelseafc.com, "I'd had goalkeeper coaches, yes, but not like Eddie.

"At that time he was the first I'd worked with who really structured the goalkeeper work and had a clear direction with what he was doing. In the second year, when I didn't play and the World Cup in France was on the horizon, he was very important for me.

"I really appreciated him. He was a great guy and I'd love to see him again."

Niedzwiecki is now coaching at Reading.
