Christophe Lollichon has explained his decision to leave Chelsea.
The goalkeeper coach departs from the Blues after 15 years of involvement.
He explained to Foot Mercato: "On the one hand, it's been 5 years since I left the professional squad following a small relationship problem with a goalkeeper at the time. Then the club continued to do very well.
"At one point, the opportunity did not arise to return to the first team. I won't explain the reasons because it showed up but it didn't happen. I was assigned to the Loan Department, an extremely efficient department at Chelsea at the goalkeeper level. The idea was that the young goalkeepers, rather than playing reserve matches, go and get tougher in 'men's games', men's matches.
"There have been very interesting loans, in particular for a boy, undoubtedly the best example, Nathan Baxter (23 years old). He started on loan at 17 and a half in the 6th Division (at Metropolitan Police FC). This year he showed he was already a Championship keeper (at Hull City) and it's been 5 years. He presumably has Premier League potential. It is all the happiness that I wish him.
"The advantage of this role was to go to the clubs, to share with the staff, to take sessions in hand in the teams where he went. It made me discover another football, that of League One, League Two, the Conference League, the Championship with established relationships. The exchanges were extremely rich, even during loans of goalkeepers abroad. It allowed me to approach certain cultures."
