Former Borussia Dortmund coach Peter Stoger has hit out at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the way he left the club for Arsenal last season.
The Gabonese forward joined the Gunners in a £56m deal to become Arsene Wenger's final signing for the club, and he's so far scored an impressive 19 goals in 26 appearances across last season and the current campaign under new boss Unai Emery.
"He left me no other choice," Stoger told Bild.
"He trained well four days of the week. But to underline his wish for a transfer, he skipped team meetings before games or refused to run during the final training.
“We did our best to keep him for at least another half a year, but Auba wasn't ready for that."
Stoger says he bears no ill-feeling towards a man who scored 141 goals in 213 Dortmund appearances over four-and-a-half seasons.
“Honestly, I got along well with him although he kept me pretty busy for four weeks," he continued.
"But Auba personally apologised to me before joining Arsenal.
“He told me that his behaviour had nothing to do with my person and that he had felt my support."
