Owen Coyle admits he has gone about bringing more of a defensive attitude to Houston Dynamo.
The Scottish tactician was known for playing in more of an attacking mindset during his days at the helm of English clubs Burnley, Bolton and Wigan Athletic but has implored his Dynamo players to improve at the back in order to make life a little easier on the scoreboard.
"I think it's been a group dynamic. You're never going to stop teams from creating chances," said Coyle whose Dynamo side have conceded just three goals in six outings.
"When we've got the ball we can go and play and express ourselves, but when we're against we have to understand what we need to go and stop good players and certainly try from running the game. There's a lot the lads are doing right but there's still room to improve in every area."
Houston are currently sitting in sixth position on the Western Conference table with a record of two wins, two draws and two losses having scored five goals thus far.
