MLS club Houston Dynamo are being closely linked with Owen Coyle taking the reins as their new head coach.
The Scottish tactician has reportedly interviewed for the position with the Texan outfit but Dynamo president Chris Canetti refused to comment on whether or not the ex-Burnley, Bolton and Wigan Athletic boss would be taking over at the BBVA Compass Stadium.
"At this point in the process, the Dynamo have no comment on specific candidate names in regards to the open head coaching position," Canetti told MLSsoccer.com.
"While that is the case, after a very thorough and widespread process, we're hopeful that we're getting closer to naming a new head coach."
Coyle, who has not been in managerial work since leaving Wigan in December 2013, is believed to be up against New York Red Bulls assistant Robin Fraser and Dynamo Steve Ralston and Wade Barrett for the top job.
