Ex-Bologna striker Kolyvanov: Man Utd haven't recovered from Ferguson retirement

Former Bologna striker Igor Kolyvanov can't say he was surprised seeing Manchester United lose to Brighton for their first game of the Premier League season.

On the day United had an offer for Bologna striker Marko Arnautovic turned down, they lost at home to Brighton.

Kolyvanov told Sport-Express: "This is a continuation of the series that has been going on in Manchester for the last five years.

"After the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson with those coaches that were at the club, United do not show such bright football with goals and attacks.

"Apparently, (Cristiano) Ronaldo wanted to leave, so he sat with a disgruntled face in the first half. He will play, then he will not, then he will stay, then he will not. He has a big salary and is 37 years old. It will be difficult to find a team that will pay for him."
