Crystal Palace have taken Christopher Samba on trial.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the towering French-born Congolese defender visited Palace's training ground on Tuesday following his release from Greek club Panathinaikos last week.
Sam Allardyce wants to run the rule over Samba, 32, before offering him a short-term contract as he seeks defensive reinforcements this month.
The former Queen's Park Rangers man played under Allardyce at Blackburn Rovers between 2007 and 2010.
Palace are also showing interest in Everton's Phil Jagielka, West Ham United's James Collins and Sunderland's Lamine Kone.
