Ex-Birmingham owners Gold, Sullivan go for West Ham

Former Birmingham City owners David Sullivan and David Gold will make a move for West Ham United this weekend.

The Sun says they will make their move in time to beat the Saturday morning bid deadline imposed by West Ham's Icelandic owners.

Sullivan and Gold want to take a substantial shareholding in the Hammers and assume responsibility for investing in the team in the transfer window.

They had been linked with buyouts at Crystal Palace and Charlton - but have been swayed by a huge response from Hammers fans since their interest.

The pair had not wanted to show their hand early but they were spotted at Upton Park watching the Hammers' recent 5-3 win over Burnley.
