Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta says there's too much demanded from Leo Messi.
Laporta feels their Champions League flop is not a matter of quality, but it's due to the alteration of the team's philosophy.
"You can't give [Messi] more responsibility than he has and it's unfair to demand more than what is required," he noted.
"Leo is giving everything and thanks to him we are where we are these last years, but he needs a team that make you shine in world football.
"It's a shame that, having the players we have, we are in this situation because we have gone away from our style.
"These situations end up happening in the Champions League if you are not yourself."
