Former Barcelona right-back Godswill Ekpolo is trialling with Watford.

Ekpolo featured for Watford Under-23s' team in their 4-2 defeat at Hull City on Monday night, reports the Watford Observer.

The 21-year-old was released by the La Liga giants last summer.

He had been tipped to make the Barcelona first team but left having never featured in the Catalan club's first team.

Ekpolo joined Barcelona when he was nine years old and captained their under-18 side.

A serious injury suffered in the 2014/15 season stunted his progress, although he did train with the first team on a number of occasions.
