Ex-Barcelona football chief Segura linked with Olympique Marseille

Former Barcelona football chief Pep Segura is being linked with Olympique Marseille.

Segura has been linked with Olympique Marseille to replace Antoni Zubizarreta as sporting director of the club, says L'Equipe.

Marseille learned about UEFA's sanction under FFP rules yesterday which punishes them financially but doesn't exclude them from Europe.

The club, ruled by president Jacques-Henri Eyraud, has started their search for a Zubi replacement. Coach Andre Villas-Boas will stay another year on the bench.

Segura (Barca 2017-19 as general manager) fits the profile and is a credible replacement.

Zubi helped Marseille reach the Champions League, after finishing second in Ligue 1 behind Paris Saint-Germain, after it was cancelled for coronavirus reasons.
