Former Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal is proud of the influence he had on the players he worked with at the Nou Camp.
Van Gaal coached some of the club's greats and is always pleased when they reference him in public.
He told AS: "The evaluations of some players is the best a coach can achieve.
"I am very proud that Xavi and (Andres) Iniesta, for example, spoke well of me after so many years, they were the team leaders for a long time.
"He was captain (Xavi) for many years, he was extreme and I put him on the side and then in the centre."
On Pep Guardiola, now in charge of Manchester City, Van Gaal added: "The pivots or the inside players can be technical, that's a good position to be a coach, Guardiola was sure he was going to be a coach, he always talked about football and gave me advice in practice, like putting (Hristo) Stoichkov or (Luis) Figo out wide."
