Ex-Barcelona chief Cury denies Coutinho a flop: Look at his numbers

Former Barcelona chief Andre Cury has defended the impact of Philippe Coutinho at the Nou Camp.

Currently injured, there's many who claim Coutinho has played his last game for the club.

Asked if the former Liverpool star is a flop, Cury told Sport: "I don't see it this way. In his first season and a half his numbers are there, I think he scores about 20 goals and gives more than 10 assists. We reached the semifinals of the Champions League and we fell against Liverpool and Tottenham was going to be our rival in the final… They won two Leagues and a Cup.

"Once again, these are things that happen in Barcelona, it was decided to transfer him to Bayern Munich. How are you going to give away a footballer for whom you paid more than 100 million euros? This makes no sense. In Germany he maintains similar numbers and wins a Treble. And now he's been unlucky enough to get injured."
