Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith is unimpressed by Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho's management of his young players.
Smith thinks some players have struggled to show real signs of improvement under Mourinho and has pointed the finger at the Red Devils manager.
“Well you'd have to say no," Smith said when asked whether United have spent wisely with Mourinho at the helm.
“Two centre-halves - Lindelof and Bailly two Mourinho signings he seems to have discarded mentally and hence all the fuss about getting more centre backs over the summer.
“They've spent an awful lot of money not much less than Man City over recent times.
“And what have they got to show for it?
“I don't think Mourinho is getting the best out of that group of players.
“It's a hugely talented group that should be doing much better."
