Ex-Arsenal striker Lupoli: Wenger should leave on positive note

Former Arsenal striker Arturo Lupoli believes Arsene Wenger needs to leave.

Lupoli is now playing for little Fermana and retains a lot of affection for Arsenal and Wenger.

He told TMW: "I thought Wenger was already leaving last year, and since 2007, when I left, everything changed at Arsenal, first there was a departure of champions, then we tried to open a new cycle with a new stadium and there were many young players.

"Wenger is definitely a piece of Arsenal history, but I think he should leave positively, but in any case, even if at the end of the year he will no longer be the Gunners' coach, he will remain tied to the club."

On leaving Arsenal, Lupoli added: "It was not the best decision, I had just won the Championship with Derby County and was able to renew with Arsenal and return to Derby on loan. But I chose Fiorentina and, considering how things went, it's clear that it would have been better to continue my adventure in the Premier."
