Former Arsenal and FC Cologne striker Tony Woodcock admits he's a big fan of Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane.

Ahead of tonight's Champions League tie between Schalke and City, Woodcock admits he's still baffled why Sane was snubbed by Germany for last summer's World Cup.

He told WAZ: "No, nobody could understand that. He has played a very good season at Manchester City. Everyone was surprised (he was left out)."

Asked for a winner tonight, Woodcock added: "You never know. Sure, City is a top club that has a very good coach Pep Guardiola. But they have not done well in Europe recently."
