Former Arsenal scout Joel Crahay admits they were keen to sign Rennes winger Jeremy Doku during his time at Anderlecht.

The 18-year-old was courted by a number of top sides for some time before he made the switch to Ligue 1 over the summer for a reported fee of £23 million.

"We were a small delegation from Arsenal, and we got in touch with his parents," Crahay told DH.

"We pushed to bring Doku to the club, but they trusted the project at Anderlecht.

"Credit to them."
