Former Arsenal midfielder Steve Sidwell says the board should be happy with the work of Unai Emery.
Emery still has a great chance of securing a top-four finish in the Premier League.
They have also reached the last eight of the Europa League and will take on Napoli in a fascinating quarter-final matchup next month.
“It's just defensively that's been their downfall all season," Brighton coach Sidwell told Sky Sports.
“It's a great opportunity now, they've got two great chances with top four and obviously the chance now of winning the Europa.
“Unai Emery has got a great affiliation with it obviously winning it with Sevilla.
“Me personally, I think they've overachieved this year, Arsenal. I really thought they were gonna struggle."
