Former Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury has turned down an offer from Aston Villa to terminate his contract.

Lansbury has been with Villa since January 2017, but he was omitted from their 25-man Premier League squad.

The Athletic report the 30-year-old was offered a termination on reduced financial terms.

But Lansbury turned down the offer and would only cancel his contract unless he gets all the money he would be due.

His contract expires at the end of this season.
