Norwich City midfielder Charlie Gilmour has leapt to the defence of Arsenal ace Mesut Ozl.

Gilmour left Arsenal last summer for the Canaries and has spent this season on-loan with Telstar in Holland.

He told The Gooner: "The ability Mesut Özil has is crazy. He sees passes that others just can't see. He's huge. I always get questions about his effort and I don't know why Mesut gets so much c***.

"I think football has changed and it's now more about the physical side, speed and power. You don't see that side of him, but technically he is superb. He is calm with the ball and you play at his pace. He is an incredible player and he is just the same off the pitch, just very calm and relaxed."
