Ex-Arsenal fullback Armand Traore: Turkey move biggest mistake of my life from every point of view

Former Arsenal fullback Armand Traore is eager to find himself a new club.

Traore is a free agent after leaving Cardiff City.

He told TuttoJuve: "The truth is that I have not been with a team since January, after a troubled period in Turkey I had only returned to Britain with the Cardiff City shirt for a couple of months. I am in this situation because of the problems I had in Turkey. I'm looking for a club, but the 'Covid-19' situation has put life on hold in general.

"So I'm not surprised that things are a little slow right now. But I still hope, I try to be as professional as possible always keeping in shape every moment.

"I want to tell what was my last real experience, the one in Turkey two years ago (with Caykur Rizespor). It was the biggest mistake of my life from every point of view, both on and off the field. The whole experience was a real nightmare, a real hell for all soccer players. After a few weeks from my arrival, I had salary problems with the club and when I asked to receive my salary on time, I was asked to train with the U23s. Once I got my lawyers involved to shed some light on this, they asked me to leave.

"The story is not over at all: they prevented me from seeing my wife and children for months. They made my life extremely difficult. It was a very busy period on a mental level, but I hope to see the light soon at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes you learn the best lessons in the most difficult situations. This experience has made me a better person."
