Former Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre has leapt to the defence of David Luiz with a stunning attack on Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.
After criticism of Luiz from Carragher during Arsenal's defeat to Manchester City, Silvestre launched an attack over the spitting scandal in March 2018 that saw the Sky Sports pundit temporarily suspended.
Carragher said, "I don't think we will see him the Premier League ever again", referring to Luiz.
That was after the Brazilian was sent off and made two errors leading to City goals at the Etihad Stadium, as competitive games returned for the first time in three months.
Manchester United title winner Silvestre then wrote on Twitter, quote-tweeting the Sky article on Carragher's comments, saying: "We all thought the same after he spat at football fans but he is back ... spitting at football players!" He then used three clapping emojis and the hashtag '#jamiecarramity'.
