Sporting Kansas City winger Ryan Smith is being heavily linked with a summer shift to Mexican outfit Atlas.
The former Arsenal, Leicester City, Derby County and Crystal Palace man's name has popped up in reports emanating in Mexico but it is unsure if there has been any concrete interest.
Sporting boss Peter Vermes insists he has heard nothing of it and is sure that the club owners would listen if a proper offer came through.
"Our five owners are entrepreneurs," Vermes said. "If anyone ever came to them with a deal for any of their businesses, I'm sure they would never say, 'I don't want to talk about it.'
"You are always going to listen and hear what someone has to say. That doesn't mean you are going to act on it."
