Ex-Arsenal chief Edelman in frame for Liverpool move

Keith Edelman, the former Arsenal managing director, is being linked with Liverpool.

The Daily Mail says Edelman, who had strong credentials for the FA chief executive role that went to civil servant Ian Watmore, has emerged as a contender for the vacant Liverpool CEO post that warring owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have agreed to fill.

Building a new ground will be a central part of the job. Edelman has the Emirates stadium success on his c.v., while his colleague on that project, financial chief Phil Nash, is now working for Liverpool.

Former FA chief executive Brian Barwick, a lifelong Liverpool fan, will also be on the list.
