Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he was never in contention for the Holland job.
Wenger was mentioned as a candidate after Ronald Koeman left the post for Barcelona.
"No not at all. That was indeed in the newspapers. I was not asked anything and have not had any contact with anyone at the KNVB. I want to be clear about that," Wenger told NOS.
“The Dutch national team is back again, with some young players. Oranje has experienced a period of decline. But I have the feeling that they are now coming back strongly."
On Ajax, Wenger declared: "I recently saw Ajax-Liverpool in the Champions League. I like to watch them, they have developed their famous football. But they are still a little mature, too young, too light to really make a difference in the Champions League."
