Patrice Evra is expected to leave Manchester United - despite having the option to trigger another 12-month deal.
The Manchester Evening News says Evra is still set to return to France in the summer despite triggering a clause in his United contract that means the Reds will have to honour a new extension to the deal that expires at the end of the season.
The left-back is said to have had the clause written into his last deal signed in 2011 that would signal an automatic Old Trafford renewal for the Frenchman if he started 25 matches for the club in this final year of his deal.
Despite that cushion for his future, Evra has been heavily linked with his former club Monaco and big spenders PSG have also shown huge interest in the international defender.
