Evra makes plea to Man Utd fans over Maguire return

Patrice Evra says Harry Maguire faces crunch time in his Manchester United career.

Maguire was given the chance to shine once again in United's 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday, following the omission of defensive counterpart Victor Lindelöf, who missed the game due to an illness. Maguire grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he produced a robust performance that delighted manager Erik ten Hag.

And Evra reckons now's the time for Maguire to re-assert himself as the focal point of United's defence, in the absence of Lindelöf.

Speaking to Betfair, Evra said: "Now, if you are a true United fan, I'm begging you to give the man a chance and support him. Also, Harry can't fail. If he fails this opportunity I think he will have to leave the club.

"But I know he can do it and he's going to have the full support of the manager and the players. We don't know what's going to happen, the manager might play Lindelof instead, but even if that is the case, Harry shouldn't give up, he should wait for his moment, it will come and when it does he needs to show us the player he is."
