Evra friendship key to Man Utd winning race for Arsenal star Nasri

Manchester United fullback Patrice Evra could be key in their pursuit of Arsenal midfield ace Samir Nasri.

The Daily Star says Evra could become a key figure in United's bid to land Nasri from the Gunners due to his close friendship with his fellow Frenchman.

He has made it clear he wants the 24-year-old midfield ace to join United.

United will step up their bid to land Nasri in the next 48 hours and are unfazed by suggestions bitter rivals Manchester City want him too.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is confident of winning the race even though he cannot match the wages that are on offer at Eastlands.

Fergie is keen to tie up a deal for Nasri before United jet to America on July 11 to begin their summer tour.
