Joe Gomez and Danny Ings are on the rod to recover after suffering season-ending knee injuries.
The promising defender and talented striker, both of whom arrived at Anfield this past summer, were struck down by cruciate ligament injuries last week.
Former Charlton Athletic youngster Gomez suffered his on international duty with the England U21s while ex-Burnley star Ings was injured at training but manager Jurgen Klopp says it is not all doom and gloom as the pair have come through their respective surgeries well as they now get set for rehabilitation.
"They are on their way back," said Klopp.
"They had their cruciate operations and both went well with no complications."
