Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell has played his way into the full England squad.

The Daily Star says the 20-year-old will today be named in Fabio Capello's provisional squad for the friendlies with world champions Spain on Saturday week and Sweden three days later.

An ankle injury to Manchester United's Tom Cleverley has created an opening in central midfield.

With Steven Gerrard of Liverpool and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere also absent through injury, Capello is considering turning to Everton starlet Rodwell.
