Everton teenager Jose Baxter has been arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to sell along with having counterfeit money.

The 17-year old starlet has been with Everton since he was six years old and became the youngest player ever to represent the Toffees at senior level when he made his debut on the first day of last season.

He has been released on bail after being arrested with two other men which was confirmed by Merseyside police.

"Three men have been arrested in Kirkby on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply and possession of counterfeit money," a police spokesman said.

"All three men have been released on police bail pending further inquiries."
