Everton U23 coach David Unsworth insists Sebastian Quirk and Einar Iversen are making good progress.
Quirk made his Premier League 2 debut against Arsenal in January while Iversen has started three times.
"It's a big jump. I've said it for a long time," Unsworth told the Liverpool Echo.
"From under-18s to go straight into the under-23 team it's a big, big jump, in every aspect of the game. Technically, tactically and more so physically. The standards our staff put on you, we treat our under-23s like a first-team and have first-team demands.
"It's a big jump and a big ask for them. Seb's slowly gone in the right direction. He's had a great week. Played for the under-18s, scored, and he's had a great week training.
"These boys train with us every day. The likes of Beni, Dennis, Anthony Gordon, they train with the first-team and the under-18 boys are training with us as well.
"You can see the progression they make. I like Seb, he's a good player. He's not really got a set-position yet but that's up to him to grind out a set position on the pitch where he can nail down."
