Everton under-18 manager Paul Tait was delighted assistant manager Duncan Ferguson attended their FA Youth Cup win against Wigan Athletic.
Football chief Marcel Brands was also in attendance.
Tait told the Liverpool Echo afterwards: "I'm really glad Duncan was here.
"He's a great supporter of the academy and he is a great supporter of our young players. I'm glad he was here."
The coach added: "A few of the lads were nervous because it was a big game, and there was no pressure on Wigan, coming here to turn Everton over, so I think there was pressure on us to perform.
"From half-time onward I was delighted with our response."
