Bryan Oviedo is set to be awarded with a new contract by Everton, according to reports from the Daily Mirror.
While Oviedo has had his fair share of injury problems over the past 18 months, the defender is still considered an important member of the Everton squad and as a testament to this fact, he is set to be rewarded with an extension to his existing deal by the Merseyside club.
Oviedo's current deal was set to expire at the end of the season but manager Roberto Martinez has decided to trigger the one-year extension clause present in the Costa Rican international's contract.
