Everton target Rondon sticking with Newcastle

Salomon Rondon's priority is a permanent deal with Newcastle.

The on-loan West Brom striker has been linked with Everton this week.

But the Evening Chronicle says Rondon has made it crystal clear to those at United and Rafa Benitez that he wants to remain at St James' Park and continue his success on Tyneside.

The Venezuela star has netted 10 goals for Newcastle this season with his loan deal from West Bromwich Albion now down to just seven matches.

Should the Baggies fail to win promotion to the Premier League, Rondon will be available for just £16.5million with a clause on his contract allowing him to quit the Hawthorns for a minimum fee.

Rondon still has a year left on his West Brom contract but the 29-year-old will not want to spend it in the Sky Bet Championship.
