Everton have received fresh encouragement in their pursuit of Josh Bowler after the teenager rejected Championship QPR's offer of a new contract, Sky sources understand.

Sky Sports reported earlier this month that the Toffees were preparing a second offer for the 18-year-old after seeing an initial bid of £1.5m rising to £3m turned down.
