Everton striker Richarlison: Players must take responsibility

Everton striker Richarlison says the players need to take responsibility after the sacking of manager Marco Silva.

Silva was dismissed after a day of boardroom deliberation, with owner Farhad Moshiri forced to act as Mersey derby humiliation plunged the Blues into the Premier League relegation zone.

“The responsibility of where we are was not just down to the coach, it is down to the players too," he said.

"The players are the ones on the pitch and we need results as soon as possible.

“Everyone at the club is responsible, everyone at the club is under pressure and it is down to us to wear the shirt and do as well as we can on the pitch.

“Last season we went through a difficult moment, but then we reacted and had a great run of games.

“We hope we can react as soon as possible because we are low in the table and we need to start playing well and start winning."
