UOL says the Toffees have been keeping tabs on the Brazil forward, who has 14 caps and three goals for his country, for some time.

Speculation about a move for the 23-year-old had died down recently, but Everton is still an option for Carlo Ancelotti this month.

The new report says that club officials recently held a transfer meeting, in which it was agreed that a deal for the striker, who is also said to be a target for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, was still a possibility.

Everton has scored 47 goals and provided 16 assists in 177 games for Gremio since making his debut as a 17-year-old in 2014.
