Marouane Fellaini could be suspended for up to nine matches if found guilty of headbutting by the Football Association.
The Everton star tussled with Stoke City captain Ryan Shawcross in Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Britannia Stadium with the eventual outcome some clear head contact to the chest and chin of the Potters defender.
Reports suggest that Fellaini may be hit with a very lengthy ban as well as a £150,000 fine despite his apology to Shawcross. The pair were involved in a few other incidents with TV footage showing the Belgian attempted a second headbutt on Shawcross as well as trying to elbow him.
Fellaini is likely to receive retrospective three-match ban for what will be deemed as a red card offence with the FA to consider further bans for the other confrontations.
