Everton star Doucoure excited for hectic festive period

Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is excited about the busy festive period in the Premier League.

Clubs are set to feature in Boxing Day games after Christmas, with matches happening every couple of days in the lead up to the New Year.

Everton take on Burnley on Boxing Day, Newcastle on December 30th, and Brighton another three days later.

"Of course, it's been a difficult season so far, especially with the injuries we've had," said Doucoure.

"We're starting to get some players back now and I think the team is improving but we have to do better to be in a better position.

"We are positive and we have the belief.

"You can see the players fighting for each other for every result. We want to go on a good run but we know it's important to do the basics right and start winning games consistently.

"We still have the belief we can have a good season.

"It's going to be a very important period - we know the Christmas period can have a big impact on how successful your season can be.

"I've been [in England] for five years, so I'm used to it... I know Christmas is very important for English people and it's a busy period for everybody in football - I love it.

"To be fair, I like to play every game, I enjoy playing every three days... Less training, more games!

"There are more chance to win games and enjoy that feeling.

"If you have a good run through Christmas, you can quickly climb the table and find yourself in a strong position."
