Everton star Baines: I will wait and be assistant to Osman or Jagielka

Everton star Leighton Baines has expressed his desire to try his hand at coaching after he hangs up his boots.

While Baines is still considered as one of the finest full-backs in England, the defender is not getting any younger at 31 and is expected to wind down his career within the next few years.

Now Baines has revealed that he is planning to take up coaching once he retires and added that he would want to work under teammates Leon Osman and Phil Jagielka who he feels would be well-suited in the management game.

Baines told The Express: "I was thinking about doing my badges at some point anyway, but the last seven months have hastened it and, if I fast forward, given me a look into where I might be at.

"I will get my badges and wait for one of the other lads like Ossie or Jags to get a job somewhere and then they can sort me out! I will collect the bibs and cones!"
