Everton snap up Man Utd striker Sam Byrne

Everton have snapped up Manchester United striker Sam Byrne.

Byrne, 18, has arrived at Finch Farm on a free transfer having left Manchester United's academy in May after three years.

A Republic of Ireland Under-19 international with seven goals in 10 outings, the Dublin-born striker also spent 13 games on loan at League OneCarlisle United last season, scoring once.

Former United teammate Jack Barmby was snapped up by Leicester City at the end of last season.
