Everton are closing in on Russia international defender Sergei Ignashevich.

The Daily Mail says Everton have identified Russia international defender Sergei Ignashevich as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Joleon Lescott.

The 29-year-old CSKA Moscow centre-back was part of Guus Hiddink's team that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2008 and is David Moyes' prime transfer target if Lescott is tempted by a big money move to Eastlands.
