Everton saw off Malaga to sign Salomon Rondon

Everton saw off competition from Malaga to sign Salomon Rondon from Dalian Pro, it has been revealed.

La Opinion de Malaga says the Spanish side could not compete with Everton's two-year contract offer with the option of a third.

The 31-year-old striker, who reunited with Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park on deadline day, scored 27 goals in 72 appearances for the Spanish side between 2010 and 2012 and had 'made a few winks' at his former club about a possible return.

Playing in the Segunda division, they were open to a move before the Blues pounced after allowing Moise Kean to re-sign with Juventus.
