Roberto Martinez suggests his Everton side lacked intent against Arsenal on Sunday.
Goals from Olivier Giroud and Tomas Rosicky condemned the Toffees to a 2-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium and it was all down to showing not enough intent when going forward.
"I thought we did things pretty well in the first half but we didn't carry enough intent in our attack," said Martinez.
"I felt we managed the game well in the way we stopped Arsenal having any threat on the counter which has been one of their biggest threats at home this season. But we should have had a bit more intent."
The defeat saw Everton drop to 14th on the table having not produced a victory in their past four league fixtures.
