Everton's Eto'o paraded to Sampdoria

Samuel Eto'o was unveiled to Sampdoria fans prior to their Serie A clash with Palermo on Sunday.

The Cameroonian striker is set to officially join the Italian club from Everton on Monday but was in the stands at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris to watch his new club move up to fourth spot on the table.

A report on Everton's official website confirmed that Eto'o's transfer to Sampdoria would be completed early in the new week.

"The transfer of Samuel Eto'o to Serie A side Sampdoria is expected to be completed inside the next 24 hours," read the statement.

"The 33-year-old striker has undergone a medical in Genoa and it is anticipated that the move will be confirmed on Monday."

Former Mallorca, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Anzhi Makhachkala attacker Eto'o joined the Toffees after leaving Chelsea in the summer and scored four goals in 20 appearances for the Goodison Park outfit.

The four-time African Player of the Year posted on Twitter that he was excited about the next phase of his career after completing his medical with Sinisa Mihajlovic's Blucerchiati.
