Everton's goalscoring star Tim Cahill was in fine form for his country on Monday night, netting twice as Australia kicked off their 2011 Asian Cup campaign with a solid win.
Cahill kicked off proceedings in the 4-0 win over India, sweeping home a low cross from Blackburn Rovers midfielder Brett Emerton in the 11th minute before grabbing the fourth and final goal in the 65th minute with a customary rising header in the middle of a pack of players.
The goals were Cahill's 22nd and 23rd for the Socceroos in his 47th appearance in national team colours.
The other goals were scored by former Leeds United and Liverpool winger Harry Kewell and AZ Alkmaar midfielder Brett Holman.
