Everton have addressed claims of an illegal move for a former Cardiff City player.
The Telegraph says Everton are alleged to have broken Premier League rules regarding an attempt to sign a young player from Cardiff City.
They say the youngster now plays for Manchester United.
An Everton statement read: "Everton has been notified of an allegation relating to an approach by the Club to an Academy aged player.
"On being made aware of this, we immediately launched an internal investigation and have been cooperating fully with all of the relevant authorities."
